Cabot SPF 48 Deck and Fence Finishes marks an entirely new dimension in exterior deck and fence protection. This product provides a level of water-repellency and U.V.protection beyond conventional wood treatments through a unique coating technology. Cabot SPF can be applied just hours after rain or surface washing because of its moisture-friendly (hydrophilic) resin system that actually uses surface moisture to penetrate and level. The result is a super-premium and remarkably easy-to-use exterior wood finish that delivers true performance and beauty.

Coverage

On smooth surfaces, approximately 300-400 square feet per gallon; 150-250 on rough surfaces. These rates will vary depending upon the moisture content and porosity of the surface.

Preparing Your Surfaces

Surfaces must be sound and free of all dirt, mildew stains and loose wood fibers. Stain must be able to penetrate wood and prior coatings must be removed. When cleaning, best results can be achieved by using a power-washing unit. Tannic acid and nailhead rust discoloration can be removed by applying Cabot Problem-Solver® Wood Brightener. Never use steel wool.

Application

Apply with polyester, bristle brush, pad, roller or professional spray equipment. When rolling or spraying, always backbrush immediately to ensure uniformity. Start at one edge and follow through to the end of the boards to avoid lap marks. The appearance of this finish will vary depending upon the porosity and color of the wood surface.
